What our eye may see . . .

Take a good look at this photo.

I copied it from the Norwegian newspaper VG 27. February 2006

.

The photo appeared in the paper connected to Sally Ann Bowman's death.

I made a copy because . . .

When I look at the photo, I can see one legg too much, all to left of the photo. I also can see the other leg but weaker. The legs even make a shadow.

If you make the photo small, you can actually see the whole person with blue jacket on, twise the size of the other people.

So I'm asking you . . .

~ is this imagination?

~ is it a person there that have made himself invisible? In other words, an incubus.

~ is it a spirit?

~ is it a ghost?

~ is it a devil?

~ is it a giant?

What is it???

Not sure but it's got nice taste in shoes :)

this is interesting...

my only explanation could be it is catching a reflection in the camera lense, but this does not explain the shadow.

I did notice the cop is wearing one of those funny hats.

i just can't stop thinking about this photo!

can you make it smaller, and post it that way too, so we can see what you see when it is smaller?

Infintesimal: You can copy it onto your PC. Then you can make it smaller or bigger as you like.

Here's what I think happened. First, it's at night, so the photog probably used a longer exposure time. When he first hit the shutter, the cop was standing to the left. A second or two later, he moved to stand on the other side of the cop with his back to the camera and then just stood there. That's his right leg on the left. It's your basic double exposure kind of photo. Just a thought.

Could be a giant ghost, or a midget wrestler, I am not sure!!!

snog dot: Interesting... But the "ghost" has a blue jacket on and his trousers are shorter than the other cops.

Hhhmmmm. Didn't notice that

IMO, this is a photoshop'd image and te used part of another image to cover up something, If you notice there is shadows and the shadows from the blurred part are not going the same way as the main picture. The photo editor needs more classes in editing.
After my photoshop classes, I learned never to believe a photo to be true unless you took it yourself. Everything can be changed. Who knows what they were trying to hide. It could be someone or a name of a place, the sky's the limit. Good eye though.

It's a drain! Have a look at the drain to the right. This is a corresponding drain on the left. The perspective of the viewer is altered so the drain is foreshortened. The colours are the same, the basic shape is the same. The perspective is different. Sorry to disappoint but the simplist explanation of usually the correct one.

my grandfathers funeral a picture was captured as he rested in his open casket. later as the casket was about to be lowered to the earth another photo was captured however the film was not advanced so there appeared to be a ghostly image of his spirit leaving the casket. After a fainting spell and a trip to the hospital for my poor old granny the mistake was explained. This is a simular effect.
